Last week we took Jacob on his first family vacation to Destin, Florida! My family has gone to this resort in Destin (The Pelican Beach Resort) for several years and we love it. We haven't been in a few years and were so excited about going back! My dad, mom, brother and both of my grandmothers, along with Jacob and I loaded up in a van and took off! We left Friday the 10th and drove to Mississippi before stopping to rest for the night. The next day we got up early and continued our journey to Florida. 6 hours later we pulled up to our condo and were home for the next week!
Jacob was spoiled rotten all week. He had both great grandmothers, a grandfather and grandmother and an uncle there with him all week. And then Travis flew in on Wednesday so he was really rotten by the time we left. We had a great time, playing on the beach all day only coming into each lunch, then again for dinner and games at night before going to bed! A blast!
Tuesday afternoon, Jacob got really fussy and needy. We soon realized that our baby was starting the lovey process of teething. What a joy. Poor thing was miserable and still is. Teeth are so overrated! Even teething he still enjoyed playing in the sand and water all day!
The 18th came and it was time to pack up and head back home. We dropped Travis off at the airport before setting sail back to Dallas.
For 3 months old Jacob did wonderful. It was a long 2 day drive there and a very long 12 hour drive back. He now hates his car seat and throws a horrible fit when you put him in it. Poor baby.
He absolutely loved the beach. He dug his little feet in the sand and swam like a fish! He is a true water baby. He would nap on the beach and was such a great beach bum!
It was a lovely week with family, sun, sand, and laughter! We had a blast and didn't want to come home!
