Summer is off to a great start for the Perkins!
Travis came home on the 4th and helped move us into our new place, but was gone again before the dust even settled. Of course I got the whole house put together in the first couple of days, grocery shopping and all. He will be back on the 20th for his fire department physical agility test, please pray he gets the job! He will go back to AZ shortly after the test and be gone again for another month...this sucks! We are looking forward to him being able to be home for good, he is missing so much with Jacob!
Jacob and I have been enjoying our summer being super lazy and having fun :) He is getting so big! August is going to be rough, I will not want to go to work! Everything is great, including our lizard friend that hangs out in Jacob's room, he will NOT leave on his own and there is no way I am going to touch him. So for now he is just our pet. We are going to try to venture out to the pool tomorrow morning for a bit, its just so HOT! I am not sure how long it will last, may take Jacob's swing and put him in the shade so I can get some sun! He has beautiful color but mommy is quite white!
My best friend Nicki watched Jacob while Mom and I attempted to go to our yearly tradition of the Rascal Flatts concert on Saturday and man was that a nightmare. We have been going to the concert for the past 5 years and never have we had such a hard time enjoying our favorite band. We have always sat on the lawn vs. the reserved seats because usually its more fun and not as hot. This year we should have opted for the reserved seats. Once the gates opened we got a great spot on the lawn, first row front and center :) Then this really stinky "handicapped" family sat behind us and smoked pot the whole time. LOVELY! It was so hot we looked like someone had drenched us with the water hose before the concert even started, we could not drink enough liquids. We left early, which is something we just don't do! We had horrible headaches and needed showers badly.
I have to go to work 2 days this week, not looking forward to, but Jacob will be in great hands. My nanny is coming to watch him while I work. It will be so nice to have some adult company around the house for the next couple of days. I am use to it being so quite, well unless Jacob gets hungry or decides he wants to stay up long enough to play and laugh with me!
