Wow! I had heard that growth spurts were tough for breastfeeding mothers, that is no lie! Jacob has hit his 3 week growth spurt and along with that came a really rough couple of days and nights. He wants to eat every hour, sometimes every 30 minutes.

When we came home from the hospital he was doing really well, eating every 2-3 hours and sleeping in his own room, in his own crib. Well after about a week and a half of early morning feedings and feeling like a bobble head doll (not to mention scared to death I was going to rock myself to sleep at 3 am and drop my precious baby onto the floor) I decided to figure out how to feed while laying down, mistake number 1. I figured it out and so did he. I would wake up an hour or so later with a baby still latched to my chest and snoring. Once I would try to move him he would waken and start acting like he was starving. So he slept with us for a good week. Then came this glorious growth spurt....I thought my baby was never going back in his crib.

Day 3 of growth spurt and a wonderful turn about! He is now peacefully sleeping in his crib and sleeping for 3-4 hours at a time again, thank you Jesus! He is back to eating every 2-3 with one 4 hour stretch and boy am I glad (not to mention "the girls", we were pooped)! He has turned into quite the snuggle/love bug and loves for someone to hold him. I have to say the hardest thing so far (besides the hourly feedings) has been to put him down.
