Jacob went for his 2 week check up today and it went great. She continues to tell us he is perfect, which we already know! He is growing like a weed and mommy's kind of sad about that. I don't want him to grow fast, he is precious just the way he is! He now weighs 7 pounds and 6 ounces, and he is 20.5 inches long. They also did his second newborn screening and they should have the results back in no later than 6 weeks, possibly earlier. If you are a mommy you know how hard those screens are, you might know them as the PKU test. Those are awful, awful. I had to stand outside the exam room door while they did the exam and hear my baby boy scream as if they were cutting his poor foot off. Of course, I was outside the door crying like a baby. There is no way I could have sat in that room and watched them do that.
After our adventure at the doctors office today, we went on our first long outing. Just mommy and Jacob, daddy went to the Ranger game. It was a great outing since he slept the whole time, I assume he was exhausted after the 20 minute scream fest we had at the doctors office. Travis went to the doctor today as well, for the second time. He has broken his big toe, apparently he has broken both of the bones in that toe and it is quite busted up. Then he got to spend the day out of the house with a friend at the Ranger game!
We are all doing just fine, the recovery process has been a breeze. We have been blessed with a pretty precious little fella that has no missed a beat. It is almost like he has always been here with us. Mommy is still trying to figure out when/if she is going back to work this school year and daddy is ...well...just daddy! We are one small happy family and we love it!
