Despite Travis' unsuccessful attempts to get home at first, he finally made and we had a wonderful weekend!
He was suppose to arrive on Friday night and after sitting in the airport in Arizona all afternoon and evening with several failed attempts to get on a plane, he didn't make it home. Saturday around noon his mother arrived and spent the day with Jacob and I waiting patiently on Daddy to get home. He sat in the airport again all day and didn't get on a plane, determined to get home at some point on Saturday he ended up driving half way. He drove from Arizona to El Paso and made the flight home!
He got in Saturday evening in enough time to play with Jacob for a bit before giving him a bath and putting him to bed. He always lights up like a light bulb when he sees Jacob. It melts my heart that he is missing out on so much this summer!
Sunday we woke up got dressed and went to have Mexican food for lunch. He had been craving seafood so we saved that for dinner. After lunch we all came home and took naps and relaxed. We then got dressed and headed out for dinner, and where else...but Bass Pro! That is some of the best seafood I have ever eaten in my life! Sooo delicious and I don't even like fish! After dinner we had to take Emma to meet with her friends for her journey back home. Then we headed to mom and dads for pie and ice cream! YUM!
This morning Travis had to get up early and take his physical agility test and polygraph for the fire department, please pray he gets the job! He said the tests went wonderful and we should hear something back next month. He is gone again ...back to work.
