"Zevra's are my fabrit animals!"

Today we took you to the Dallas Zoo for the first time. Not only was it your first time, but it was Jay's too. We all went to the Ft. Worth Zoo a few summers ago, but you had never been to the Dallas Zoo. We packed a picnic and loaded up the wagon for another fun family Saturday outing.

The Dallas Zoo has changed so much since I was your age. The exhibits are a lot more fun now! They have an entire area called the Savannah where animals like Elephants, Zebras, and Giraffes just roam "free". I loved this area and was especially excited for you to feed the giraffes. The have an area in the Savannah set up where you can feed the giraffes lettuce. They come right up to you with their giant heads and super long slimy tongues and eat the lettuce right out of your hand. You were not so sure about this at first but you warmed up pretty quickly and you couldn't help but giggle as they ate out of your hand.

From the parking lot to the exhibit you were telling us that the "Zevra's" were your "fabrit" animals. I had no idea you took such a liking to the Zebra.  We didn't get to see them up close, but you did thoroughly enjoy them from afar. We also found out that another "fabrit" animal of yours is the penguin. You wanted to hang out and watch them play in the water all day.

You thought the Elephants were quite entertaining too. One of them let out the loudest sound and threw his trunk far in the air, that was the highlight of the trip for you! You tell everyone that ask you about your day at the Zoo, just how loud the Elephant was.

We stopped to enjoy a picnic, get some ice cream and venture around the souvenir shop. Out of all the fun animal themed toys in the shop, you picked out a pack of four wheelers. I don't know why we expected you to choose anything else!
